Suffolk Freemasons Military Veterans Day 2023

The Suffolk Provincial Almoner Team is pleased to announce the second Military Veterans Day in conjunction with The Not Forgotten charity. The event will be held at Helmingham Hall, with the kind permission of the Tollemache family, on Friday, 20th September 2024, from 12.30 pm to 5.00 pm.

The Provincial Grand Almoner Jamie Gwatkin said:

"I am delighted that we have been able to secure Helmingham Hall for our second Drive-In Garden Party in September 2024. This will build on the successful day at Euston Hall in 2023, when we entertained 220 veterans and helpers. This would not have been possible without £3,000 funding from the Province, which has been match funded with £3,000 from the Masonic Charitable Foundation, and I am very grateful to the Provincial Grand Master, Jolyon Berry, and Jon Neill, Provincial Charity Steward, for their help with this initiative".

Richard Walker OBE, Chief Executive of The Not Forgotten, said:

"The Charity is absolutely delighted by the news that Suffolk Freemasons, together with the Masonic Charitable Foundation, have provided funding to support the 2024 Drive-In entertainment programme for wounded veterans to be held at Helmingham Hall in September. This venture builds upon the fantastic pilot arrangement held at Euston Hall in 2023. It demonstrates the value and impact that partnerships such as ours can deliver to the communities where it really matters. This event is part of our national Drive-in programme, which, in partnership with the Freemasons, will support the well-being needs of over 1,000 veterans in the community directly and 2-3,000 indirectly. Thank you on behalf of all at The Not Forgotten and, most importantly, those we support".

If any Masonic Military Veteran wants to attend, or if any Freemason would like to help on the day, please put the date in your diaries and look out for further details closer to the event here.
