New Masonic Walking Tour Launched Around Covent Garden and the Strand

The 75 to 80-minute walking tour begins and ends at Freemasons’ Hall and takes in the surrounding areas of Covent Garden, the Strand, and nearby historic streets. Led by an experienced guide, the tour combines storytelling with local heritage, highlighting how Freemasonry has shaped both British and global history.

Participants will hear about Freemasons from a wide range of backgrounds, including figures from the Armed Forces, the arts and sciences, as well as individuals who served as Prime Ministers and members of the Royal Family.

The tour also features lesser-known historical anecdotes, including stories linked to a Masonic detective associated with the arrest of the Kray Twins, and another who has been connected in popular accounts with identifying Jack the Ripper.

Along the route, visitors will pass key London landmarks such as Great Queen Street, Bow Street Magistrates’ Court, St Paul’s Church in Covent Garden, Maiden Lane, and the Strand, among others, bringing the capital’s rich history to life through a Masonic lens.

To ensure the best experience, visitors are advised to wear comfortable walking shoes and check the weather forecast in advance. As the London weather can change quickly, layers and rain protection are recommended throughout the year.
