Logo of Thomas Ralling Lodge
Biography:

Thomas Ralling Lodge is full of tradition and experience but with a modern and vibrant feel. Consecrated in 1894, we celebrated our 125th Anniversary in 2019 and look forward to other milestones.

Meeting on Saturdays in Loughton, just to the North East of London, provides a convenient time to meet all those who are busy studying or working during the week.

Over the last few years, the Lodge has welcomed a diverse number of members and has incorporated them into the fraternity to build a solid and sustainable lodge. All students, faculty, post-grads, and others are welcome.

Socially, we arrange “Get Togethers” on a two-monthly basis, have an annual Ladies Night (black-tie dinner and dance), organise Sunday lunches, and an annual Quiz Night. It is all go at times!

The Lodge also has the support of two other Lodges (Brooke Lodge 2005 and West Essex Meridian Lodge 9821) who meet at Loughton on Saturdays; this enables members to be flexible in attending meetings. Plus, we have the support of a Lodge from the Order of Women’s Freemasonry, which will allow women to be part of the fraternity.

So, if you would like to be part of our worldwide organisation, please contact us.

Universities Lodge logo
Biography:

The Lodge was founded in 1890 for graduates in Durham. By its centenary, numbers were declining so it threw open membership to all. In practice, it remains a largely graduate Lodge but with a wide mix of occupations. It benefits hugely from the Universities Scheme, with a steady stream of student (and other) candidates, and is a colourful and highly social Lodge with regular multiple ceremonies (up to six candidates), a well-attended annual ladies and guests night, where student members often bring their families, and an annual black-tie dinner for prospective candidates. It also has a Royal Arch chapter and a daughter Lodge, University of Durham 3030 in London.

University Lodge of Chester logo
Biography:

The idea of a University Lodge in the Province of Cheshire was the subject of much discussion for three years. A meeting was then set up in May 2009 at the Willington Hall Hotel, chaired by Edward Lord of the Universities Scheme, to discuss the formation of a Universities Scheme Lodge. Since 2011, the University Lodge of Chester (ULoC) has initiated more than 50 candidates, and in 2018 saw the first postgraduate installed as Worshipful Master. That year was also notable for the Wardens, Deacons and Inner Guard all being under the age of 25.

In addition, 2021 was the third successive year the Lodge installed a ULoC-initiated student as Worshipful Master.

Biography:

The University of Birmingham Lodge no.5628 is Birmingham's premier University lodge.

The Lodge was founded on the 31st of October 1936 in Birmingham’s Town Hall. It was founded by the heads of the Univeristy, to provide its staff and students with a place where they could meet freely and openly outside the confines of the University. This is something that we still strongly stand for today, creating a place where we can bring together all current and past members of the Univeristy. We are open to all current and past students and staff of the University of Birmingham, as well as members of any of Birmingham’s other Universities.
