Prince Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn (1850- 1942) initiated in Prince of Wales’ Lodge No. 259. In 1901, his brother resigned from the position of Grand Master, United Grand Lodge of England to assume the throne as King Edward VII. Arthur became the new Grand Master for the next 37 years.
