Carpenter - 6 Month Fixed Term Contract
United Grand Lodge of England seeks a skilled Carpenter for a 6-month fixed term contract on a full-time basis within the Building Services department.
The carpentry team have a backlog of work orders and regular day-to-day tasks. There are over 50 outstanding Maintain X work orders including actions raised under H & S audits. There are also outstanding fire door tasks (repairs to existing and replacement to upgrade) that have been identified but not yet completed.
Duties:
- To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance at Freemasons Hall
- To carry out reactive Maintenance at Freemasons Hall
- To carry out condition surveys of all wooden surfaces and accessories in Freemasons Hall
- To provide technical carpentry advice
- To undertake carpentry projects as required
- To carry out repairs to furniture and equipment as required
- To erect shelving and other additions to the building
- To repair doors, install and repair locks and hinges as necessary
- To manufacture wooden equipment such as wands, boxes etc.
- To use a two-way radio and be available for call-out in an emergency
- To assist with the assessment of Health & Safety issues and to act in such a way as to ensure the health, safety and welfare of oneself as well as others
- To maintain awareness of current legislation relevant for the responsibilities of the job
- To assist with other tasks as required by the Maintenance Supervisor and/or Maintenance Manager.

Hours:
The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)
