On the evening of 13 November 2024, at 18:00, Freemasons' Hall will resonate with the splendid sounds of its magnificent Willis pipe organ, played by the renowned organist Katherine Dienes, also known as Katherine Dienes-Williams.
Born in Wellington, New Zealand, on 10 January 1970, Katherine Dienes-Williams is a celebrated organist, conductor, and composer. Currently, she holds the prestigious position of Organist and Master of the Choristers at Guildford Cathedral, marking her as the first woman to occupy the most senior musical post in a Church of England cathedral.
Her distinguished career is complemented by her family life; she is married to Patrick Williams, the librarian of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and they have a daughter, Hannah, who sang as a chorister at Guildford Cathedral.
