Credit Controller (6 month FTC)
United Grand Lodge of England are looking to hire a Credit Controller (FTC). This role will be responsible for the timely collection of debtor balances across a number of different revenue streams.
Background
Freemasons’ Hall is a unique art deco building which can date its origins back to 1769 when Freemasons first started meeting at this site. The current building was completed in 1933 as a memorial to those who died in the Great War. The Grand Temple and Vestibules are regularly hired for major international events and film & TV locations and music concerts. Previous years events include London Fashion Week, Brit Awards party, Smart Christmas Parties in addition to major film and TV blockbusters.
Key responsibilities
- To reconcile sales ledger balances to cash receipts
- Ensure balances are collected in a timely manner and allocated correctly
- Provide an excellent member/client experience when dealing with outstanding balances due
- Maintain accurate and timely receivable records
- Regularly review and report on aged debtors as part of the month end process
- Propose debt provisions/write offs where applicable
- Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders to resolve queries/disputes
- Input to, and enforce, the organisation’s bad debt policy
- Input to the regular cash flow forecasting process
- Become an integral member of the finance team with a thorough understanding of the nature of all of the team’s roles.
- Identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
Skills and Attributes

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Calm and confident manner
- Financial literacy and the ability to understand, interpret and communicate management information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and build strong relationships
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages and accounting software
- Demonstrable experience of working within a credit control team
- A curious mind with the confidence and initiative to bring new ideas to the table
- High attention to detail
Hours of work
Full-time (35 hours per week) – 6-month Fixed Term Contract
*(part time applications will be considered – minimum 4 days (28 hours) per week).
