Juno Lodge

Lodge number: 10001

Close
Juno Lodge logo
Biography:

Juno Lodge was consecrated on Saturday 23 October 2021 in Kingston upon Hull. We are a keen group, set to be the Province’s champion of the Universities Scheme. The Scheme itself is a pioneering attempt by the United Grand Lodge of England to help and support the many students and other young people who are seeking to become involved in Freemasonry but who may not know where to begin.

Juno Lodge aims to make Freemasonry more accessible to university students, academics, alumni and staff who would like to engage and enjoy the precepts of Freemasonry but struggle due to studies, family and career pressures. Juno will make Freemasonry more accessible to men without compromising their studies or work commitments, nor without losing any of the ethos or principles of Freemasonry.

We are a group of enthusiastic, likeminded, local members – our membership ranges in age from 21 to 60-plus. For many, the biggest draw is the fact that members come from all walks of life and meet as equals whatever their race, religion or socioeconomic position in society. We will be taking part in national and local community engagements to make a positive difference to the community.

We recognise that personal circumstances or professional commitments may influence attendance, which is why Juno Lodge only meets five times a year. Our meetings are held at the Minerva Masonic Hall, Dagger Lane, Kingston upon Hull, which is situated within the city’s old town.

Lodge of the Chisel

Lodge of the Chisel logo
Biography:

Originally formed in the Province of Cornwall as an educators’ Lodge and named Chisel, it seemed perfect for conversion into a Universities Scheme Lodge.

The venue for meetings was moved to Falmouth, the hub of Cornish student life. Currently boasting members across a breadth of experience, with and without links to education, even including a published Masonic poet, the Lodge creates a balanced platform to engage with and support the student population joining Freemasonry.

Post-Covid restrictions, the future is looking bright. Candidates are advancing through the Degrees, and with a healthy number of candidates awaiting Initiation, we believe this Lodge will grow exponentially as word spreads.
