40th Anniversary

RW Deputy Grand Master, Iain Ross Bryce read a message on behalf of the The MW Pro Grand Master, Lord Northampton to the MW The Grand Master,
The message reads:
Every Freemason under the United Grand Lodge of England joins me in sending loyal greetings and congratulations to your Royal Highness on the forthcoming fortieth anniversary of your initiation on 16 December 1963.

Preliminary Declaration to the Book of Constitutions

The President of the Board of General Purposes, RW Bro. Lord Cadogan Moved:
That the following words be added as a second paragraph to the Preliminary Declaration to the Book of Constitutions:
"At the Quarterly Communication of 10 December 2003 the United Grand Lodge of England acknowledged and pronounced the status of the Supreme Order of the Holy Royal Arch to be 'an extension to, but neither a superior nor a subordinate part of, the Degrees which precede it'."

Appointments

MW The Grand Master has made the following appointments:

VW Bro Richard George Hamilton Goddard, PGSwdB, to be Provincial Grand Master for Worcestershire, in succession to RW Bro Barrie Cooper who is to retire on 31 December 2003. Bro Goddard is due to be installed on 29 January 2004;

W Bro Francis Wakem, QPM, PSGD, to be Provincial Grand Master for Wiltshire, in succession to RW Bro Brian Edwick who is to retire on 24 March 2004. Bro Wakem is due to be installed on 7 October 2004.

Order of Service to Masonry

The Grand Master's Order of Service to Masonry has been awarded to Frederick Henry Smyth, PAGDC presented to him by the Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro Iain Ross Bryce.

Prestonian Lecture for 2004

The delivery of the official Prestonian Lectures in 2004 will be given under the auspices of the following:
Quatuor Coronati Lodge, No. 2076 (London)
Tudor Lodge,No. 1792 (Warwickshire)
Lodge of Light, No. 7218 (Sussex)
The Lecturer, W Bro A. T. Stewart, states that the title of the Lecture will be "English Speculative Freemasonry: origins, themes and developments".
